Acne Pimple

Acne is a common human skin disease and in most cases appears during adolescence. In fact, acne is so common that it’s a major reason so many teenagers suffer from low esteem and lost their confidence during an acne breakout, especially on the face.

When not treated immediately, it can permanently damage the skin by producing spots and scars. The following are some of the known causes of acne:

Hormones
Acne is often called a hormonal disease. At puberty, our body starts producing hormones called androgens. This cause the enlargement and over stimulation of the sebaceous glands in the skin. When a person’s hormones become unbalanced, the surplus oil created clogs hair follicles. The extra oil – called sebum – that is produced by the sebaceous glands mixes with dead skin cells and bacteria and this causes acne pimples and blemishes. Inside the blocked pores, the bacteria will thrive to cause inflammation. Hormone imbalance is often experienced during puberty, pregnancy, and menopause.

Stress
The main cause of acne in adults is often attributed to stress. Emotional and physical stress is known to affect the skin and can lead to multiple zits. Emotional stress can include anxiety regarding an upcoming and important event, relationship problems, overwhelming workload, and concerns to a loved one. Lack of sleep, a hectic lifestyle, and smoking are some of the examples of physical stress. When a person is stressed, the adrenal glands produces a lot of oil and this clogs up the pores of the skin.

Improper Diet
Junk food is a primary cause of adolescent pimples that develop into acne. Foods that are high in sugar, saturated fats, and vegetable oils are the main culprits. As much as possible, avoid eating a lot of chips, cakes, fast food burgers, and fries as this will cause the person’s insulin level to rise and cause a hormonal imbalance. Caffeine and other stimulants are also known to over-stimulate hormone growth. A consistently unbalanced diet should be avoided in order to have a better skin.

The good news is that acne skin disease can easily be cured by changing your lifestyle. By managing your stress and eating a balance diet, you can avoid embarrassing breakouts of acne on your face. Stress level management can be accomplished naturally by consistently exercising and resting. By simply eating the proper food, your skin will be become healthy. Some of the food that is good for our skin and can help prevent acne are avocado, mangoes, papayas, watercress, garlic, celery, olives, Brazil nuts, pumpkin seeds, and berries.
