How Sulfur Pimple Products Work

As an Exfoliating Agent
Skin exfoliating agents are those that clean and remove dead skin cells from the epidermal layer of the skin. This brings forth the fresh underlying new layers from below epidermis. This layer is naturally very radiant. Exfoliating skin periodically, say once in two weeks, speeds up rejuvenation of cells.
Sulfur products are known to be one of the best exfoliating agents available. Though exfoliating agents don’t have a direct part in Pimple treatments, they can indirectly help skin by preventing pores from clogging. Skin with opened up pores is generally free from Pimple and rosacea. Also as these products can speed up skin metabolism and hence the natural wear and tear cycle of the upper layers of skin gets accelerated. Generally old epidermal cells wear off and new cells appear in cycles of about 25 – 30 days. Sulfur products can accelerate the whole mechanism to some extent.
As an oxidation agent
Pimple inflammations are due to the growth of certain type of bacteria (called “P” type bacteria) within top layers of skin where there is no oxygen. Pores clogged with sebum are ideal spots for the growth of this type of bacteria.
Sulfur products tend to supply oxygen the skin layers and hence fighting the Pimple causing bacteria. Hence these products not only do help in skin rejuvenation but in supplying fresh oxygen to upper layers of skin.
