pimple care treatment

Does it seem as if your Pimple medication is not clearing up your skin? Are you considering changing your Pimple medication to achieve better results? If you are then, before you do, take into consideration that some simple changes in your Pimple treatment may make the medication work the way they are supposed to so, before changing medications, try these twelve simple tips.

If you are seeing a dermatologist:

1. Use any prescribed medications exactly as instructed, since many medications only target one or two causes of Pimple you may have been prescribed more than one in which case, it becomes most important to use as directed.
2. Your dermatologist has a plan for your Pimple treatment, if you use medications not prescribed you will end up irritating your skin which can cause more outbreaks. Stick to your treatment plan as prescribed.
3. If there is something about your treatment plan you do not understand then, speak up I am sure your dermatologist is not a mind reader and getting your questions answered can make your treatment plan more effective. For those using over the counter medications and people seeing a dermatologist.
4. Everyone does this without realizing they are making things worse. Popping the pimples, all this does, is to make the Pimple worse and make it seem as if the medications are not working. Popping pimples can also lead to permanent scarring. As hard as it may be, stop popping your pimples.
5. Do not use facial scrubs, astringents, masks, abrasive soaps or scrubs, or toner as these can irritate the skin causing more severe outbreaks. Using a mild soap to wash twice a day is more effective in controlling outbreaks.
6. This is another thing many do that just makes Pimple worse. Scrubbing the skin with a washcloth or abrasive pad trying to remove oils and dirt, again leading to irritation of the skin causing outbreaks and can make it difficult for you to tolerate the Pimple medication.
7. This is a combination of five and six above. When you wash your face, only wash it twice a day, use mild soap and lukewarm water only, not hot water. Use your hands and fingertips to apply the soap, as this will help reduce dryness and irritation.
8. After washing your face wait five to fifteen minutes before applying your Pimple medication, your skin becomes most absorbent when wet and can cause the medication to irritate the skin.
9. When using make up, skin care products, and hair care products make sure they are oil free. Oil in these products can clog the pores on your face causing Pimple outbreaks. Always check the label and look for “oil free,” “nonPimplegenic,” or “noncomedogenic” as these do not clog pores.
10. For those who wear makeup, always apply the Pimple medication before the make up as the makeup can keep your medication from working.
11. Once your skin has cleared up do not stop using your prescribed treatment until your dermatologist tells you to stop, chances are they won’t. Most likely they will prescribe or suggest an over the counter product to keep the Pimple from returning. If you are not seeing a dermatologist and have been using an over the counter product that worked and cleared up the Pimple do not stop using it, you can however, cut back the use to once or twice a week, if you do and the Pimple returns go back to daily use.
12. I know you do not want to hear the following but, you have to give whatever treatment you are using time to work. Most Pimple treatment plans take up to six to eight weeks before you may even begin to see results, and result does not mean clear skin but rather a noticeable improvement in blemishes. It may take up to six months or more before you see completely clear skin.

Pimple treatments have come a long way since I was a teenager and just about all cases of Pimple are treatable. Follow the tips above and give your Pimple treatment time to work, if you have been following these tips and have not seen improvement then, see a dermatologist.
